New Student of Technology

I think I was a bit of a latecomer to the technology revolution as I purchased my first computer at the beginning of 2008. I then hooked up to internet and started interacting with cyberspace. I had used computers a little in previous jobs, but never had extended use of a computer and the internet. The last 18 months have been an interesting learning curve. There has been cursing and many hours spent figuring out the many different functions of the computer and the internet. I am sure there is other older students in my course who have felt the same.



It has been all worth it, with the push of a few keys I can find out about anything I desire. It is amazing that you can have this much information at your finger tips. When I started typing I was so slow , right now I am seeing the improvement with my typing speed.



I think I am part of the old school and new school in regards to technology. For example I purchased a mobile phone when they became necessary for daily life, so people could contact you anywhere anytime. I mainly used it for phone calls, voice mail and the odd photo. I did not progress with each new function that became available (music, internet access, bluetooth, earphone for hands free and so on) , I mainly used it as a phone and did not let it rule my life. I lead a more outdoor active lifestyle and try not to let technology rule my life, but it is definitly a part of it now.



I do not have a Facebook or Myspace account, This blog is the closest I have come to having one.
